The Last Movie Critic
The Last Movie Critic is a documentary portrait of Roger Ebert, not just the critic, but the idea he became. Told through Roger’s own words, the film follows his voice as it guides us through his life’s work and the philosophies that shaped it, anchored at Ebertfest, the festival he created to share the movies he loved directly with audiences. Through the filmmakers he championed and the community he built around the belief that cinema could make us more human, the film becomes a celebration of empathy, of sitting together in the dark, and of one man’s gift to everyone who ever felt something there.
